14 minute miracle: Now Vande Bharat trains to be cleaned & ready in 14 mins for next trip | India News

NEW DELHI: Now Vande Bharat trains will be cleaned and ready for the next trip just in 14 minutes. Termed as “14-minute miracle”, the initiative will be launched at 29 spots on Sunday, including Anand Vihar (Delhi), Chennai, Puri and Shirdi.
In Japan, the bullet trains are cleaned and made ready in just 7 minutes for the next trip and it’s called “7-minute miracle”.

An official said currently it takes 45 minutes for Vande Bharat trains to be cleaned and ready for the next trip.

Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will be present when this exercise is done at Delhi Cantt station on Sunday.
Officials said each coach of the Vande Bharat train there will be three cleaning staff. The cleaning will be done manually and they have been trained for this.
The ministry of Railways had earlier announced that it was going to implement the “14 minutes miracle” scheme as a part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.
“In this scheme after ensuring all the passengers deboard at the terminal station well in time, the exercise of 14-minute miracle will start. The scheme will work based on the flow chart for smooth operation of the programme,” Centre had said in a statement.

“The ’14 minute miracle’ cleaning activities will be properly documented for further analysis & feedback mechanism. Based on the feedback of the best practices adopted by the Railways, the scheme will be further improved after a month,” it added.
