Bellingham’s goal-scoring efficiency is nothing short of extraordinary, with 10 goals scored from just 19 shots. The 20-year-old has made the transition to Spanish soccer appear astonishingly effortless.
In his first ten starts for Real Madrid across all competitions, Bellingham not only equalled Cristiano Ronaldo‘s 10-goal record but also delivered three assists, outperforming Ronaldo’s one assist in a similar period.
The midfielder found the back of the net in both halves of the match, providing Real with a two-goal lead. Vinicius Jr. and Joselu also contributed to the comprehensive victory.
Bellingham currently leads LaLiga’s scoring charts with eight goals in seven starts, putting him three goals ahead of his teammate Joselu and Robert Lewandowski.
Vinicius, who shares a special on-field connection with Bellingham, expressed his admiration for the young talent, stating, “(Bellingham) is incredible! He was born to play for Real Madrid, to mark an era in the biggest club in the world.”
Vinicius also expressed his desire for their partnership to last for many years, emphasizing the joy it brings to both the players and the fans. Real Madrid dominated the match from start to finish, with Bellingham’s first goal coming in the ninth minute, courtesy of an unstoppable close-range strike following an excellent wall pass from Dani Carvajal.
Despite numerous opportunities, the hosts couldn’t add to their tally in the first half. The Vinicius-Bellingham partnership consistently troubled Osasuna’s defence.
The second goal arrived in the 54th minute, with Bellingham displaying composure by slotting the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs after a fluid buildup involving Federico Valverde.
Vinicius contributed to the third goal, capitalizing on a swift counter-attack initiated by Valverde in the 65th minute. He assisted Joselu, who calmly found the back of the net for the fourth goal. Joselu had an opportunity to add a fifth from the penalty spot in the 84th minute but failed to convert, as goalkeeper Sergio Herrera easily thwarted the weak effort.
With this victory, Real Madrid increased their points tally to 24 from nine games, placing them two points ahead of Girona, who secured a 1-0 win over Cadiz earlier on Saturday. Barcelona, currently in third place with 20 points, will face Granada on Sunday and have a game in hand.
