Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh granted bail in sexual harassment case | More sports News

NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court on Thursday granted regular bail to outgoing WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the case of alleged sexual harassment of women wrestlers.
Brij Bhushan was earlier given two-day interim bail by the court on Tuesday.
The court also granted bail to Vinod Tomar, the suspended assistant secretary of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), in the case.The court granted bail to both on a personal bail bond of Rs 25,000 each.
The court imposed several conditions while granting bail to them and said the accused shall directly or indirectly not induce the complainants or witnesses and shall not leave the country without permission of the court.
The next date of hearing is July 28 for scrutiny of documents.

Six female wrestlers lodged a complaint against Brji Bhushan for alleged sexual harassment and intimidation during training camps and international competitions. Brji Bhushan has rejected all the allegations.
The Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet against the six-time MP on June 15 under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Tomar was charged with offences under IPC sections 109 (abetment of any offence, if the act abetted is committed in consequence, and where no express provision is made for its punishment), 354, 354A and 506 (criminal intimidation).
