The World No. 3 Indian duo, seeded third in the tournament, displayed an impressive performance and defeated Japan’s Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi, the fifth-seeded pair, in straight games.
The match lasted for just 40 minutes, with Satwik and Chirag dominating their opponents throughout. They clinched the victory with a scoreline of 21-14, 21-17, showcasing their skills and teamwork on the court.
In the semifinals, the Indian pair will face the second-seeded Chinese duo of Wei Keng Liang and Chang Wang, who happen to be the reigning world champions in men’s doubles.
With the exits of other Indian players like PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, and Kidambi Srikanth, Satwik and Chirag have become India’s primary contenders in the tournament.
Having won the Indonesia Open Super 1000 last month, Satwik and Chirag proved their prowess and determination once again, securing a well-deserved place in the semifinals.
Their consistent performance and ability to seize crucial moments in the game led them to a convincing victory in the quarter-finals.
