NEW DELHI: State-run Indian Oil (IOC) has joined the exclusive club of three global majors that produce ‘reference’ grade petrol and diesel – highly critical input for testing and calibrating automobile engines.
Launching the fuels on Thursday, oil minister Hardeep Singh Puri described the indigenous production of reference fuel as “another step towards Atma-nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India)” as it will end imports and will result in savings for users.
