Amit Shah’s blitz comes as a big boost to BJP on Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s turf | India News

NEW DELHI: Unfazed by reports of dissent and rebellion by a few party functionaries, home minister Amit Shah has taken the command of BJP’s poll campaign in MP as the party is seeking another term in the state where CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has completed four terms.
Shah camped in the state holding a series of strategy meetings with grassroot functionaries, other than holding public rallies.
Party sources said he has held closed-door meetings with local leaders from all 10 divisions of MP in the last three days and reviewed the party’s preparedness for all 230 assembly constituencies.
On Monday, the third day and the last leg of the visit saw the rolling out of the strategy blueprint in Indore before workers from 37 assembly constituencies. He also held a meeting in Gwalior, covering 34 assembly seats in Gwalior and Chambal divisions, after which he interacted with local workers and leaders.
Shah has made it a point to engage with local leaders, an exercise integral to his poll strategy, which was one of the key factors in the historic poll wins in UP, since the party won 64 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in 2014, proving poll pundits wrong.
Shah also tore into Congress at a rally, saying, “Only three families call the shots in the MP Congress. They are the Digvijaya family, the Kamal Nath family, and the Gandhi family.”
