Paytm has warned users of some common things that fraudsters do in order to doop people. The most common thing is calling someone pretending to be from the bank and asking for personal information and other banking details. Paytm has advised againt sharing anything to anyone as Paytm does not call its customers asking for such information.
Another important guideline is about calls, SMS and messages about completing the KYC. This is also a fraud, according to Paytm.
Other warnings are about sharing Patym credentials, gettings trapped by deals, discounts and offers. Apart from that, the malicious links are also dangerous and can lead to leak banking details to fraudsters.
Here are some key things that Paytm has warned about:
- Paytm Bank or any other bank will never call you or send a message from a personal phone number.
- Never trust unknown calls, SMS, and messages asking you to complete KYC
- Never install screen sharing apps or share screens with unknown people
- Never enter UPI PIN or scan any QR for receiving money
- Never trust any unverified social media handles
- Never share your Paytm credentials with anyone
- Never respond to lucrative offers or deals without verifying them
- Never click on links from unknown numbers regarding jobs or dating
