NAVI MUMBAI: An infant drowned after falling into a bucket full of water at his home in Panvel on Saturday. The 10-month-old boy was found lying upside down, head dunked in the plastic bucket, by his mother when she woke up after a nap in the afternoon, reports George Mendonca.
The child, Ashiq Al Iman, whose parents are daily-wage labourers, was with his mother inside the house when the mother dozed off.Until she fell asleep, the infant was awake and was playing at home. When the mother woke up she looked for him and found him lying feet upwards in the water-filled bucket. She called up her husband, who was at work at a construction site, and took the infant to a doctor who asked them to rush the baby toMGM Hospital, Kamothe, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
