There is a lot of ambiguity over YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK’s Lisa‘s contract renewal. Either party is keeping mum over the discussion and while the verdict is yet to be announced, speculations are rife that the duo have had a fallout.
Case in point being recent social media posts by YG Entertainment. According to Kbizoom, the agency on November 7 shared posts showcasing recent individual advertising ventures of BLACKPINK members Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo.Jennie, modelling for Market Kurly, dazzled in a one-piece dress reflecting the brand’s signature colours. Rosé, in a beauty photoshoot, elegantly presented a Sulwhasoo product. Jisoo, serving as a global ambassador forCartier, showcased their jewellery in a fashion shoot. However, conspicuously absent from the promotional lineup was Lisa. This omission raises eyebrows, especially considering Lisa’s pivotal role in the uncertainty surrounding BLACKPINK’s contract renewal with YG Entertainment.
Lisa’s recent activities diverged from her fellow BLACKPINK members. She found herself entangled in dating rumours with billionaire heir Frédéric Arnault and stirred controversy with her performance at Crazy Horse club in Paris. The inclusion of Lisa in an adult show sparked criticism, particularly from netizens who questioned her act. The repercussions extended to Lisa’s Chinese Weibo account, which was subsequently deleted.
In September, YG Entertainment had stated that they were still discussing contract renewals with Lisa.
