Mohammed Hafeez hits back after being trolled by Michael Vaughan | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: The online banter between former Pakistan cricketer Mohammed Hafeez and former England captain Michael Vaughan has turned into more of a battle now after the former termed the latter ‘fool’ in his latest post on social media platform ‘X’, formerly Twitter, on Thursday.

“Talk sense to a fool and he calls u foolish…,” Hafeez’s social media post read but only time will tell whether it’s going to end soon or not.

The chain of events began when Hafeez praised England’s batsman Ben Stokes for his exceptional performance under pressure against the Netherlands. However, in doing so, he also indirectly made critical remarks about star India batter Virat Kohli. Vaughan stepped in to defend Kohli with a witty and humorous response.

Hafeez posted on ‘X’, “Saviour of the ship @benstokes38 Good 100 under pressure anchoring the innings where required with aggressive intent to get Maximum runs for the team to win at the end. Sheer example to differentiate Selfish vs Selfless approach.”
In reaction to Hafeez’s comments, Vaughan mentioned that the former Pakistani batsman’s continuous taunts directed at Kohli are likely because he dismissed Hafeez during a match between India and Pakistan in 2012.
“Seems to me @MHafeez22 you were bowled by @imVkohli!!! Is this the reason you constantly have a pop at him,” Vaughan wrote on X.

Vaughan later posted again on ‘X’ with the video of the delivery with which Kohli cleaned up Hafeez.
“Morning @MHafeez22.. Have a great day,” he wrote.

Kohli delivered a remarkable performance on his 35th birthday against South Africa, hitting his 49th ODI century and thus equalling his idol Sachin Tendulkar‘s record for the most ODI centuries.
