SRINAGAR: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Shopian, on Saturday raided the property of an active Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist in Rawalpora area of the south Kashmir district in connection with the targeted attack on three migrant labourers in Shopian’s Gagren area earlier this year.
On July 13, 2023, armed terrorists barged into a workers’ accommodation in Gagren and opened fire, injuring three Bihar natives who were engaged as construction workers in the Valley.
“The search was carried out in (a) non-residential house of active terrorist Hanzal Yaqoob Shah, son of Mohammad Yaqoob Shah, linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT for his involvement in case FIR No. 126/2023 under section 307 IPC, 7/27 IAA, 16, 18, 20, 23, 38, 39 UAP Act of P/S Shopian,” police said in a statement.
