GHAZIABAD: A 40-year-old man lost his life after being shot with a firecracker gun in the private area in the Jhandapur locality of Ghaziabad, as reported by the police on Monday.
The incident occurred on the night of Diwali when Pradeep, the accused, fired a cracker from an iron pipe beneath the hip of Afzal, also known as Natu.
Afzal was quickly taken to a hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries, according to Sahibabad Additional Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Verma.
The police have acquired CCTV footage of the incident and have filed charges against Pradeep, who has been on the run since Diwali. Verma mentioned that Afzal and Pradeep were acquainted with each other.
To prevent any potential communal tensions, the police have deployed forces in the area, as stated by the ACP.
