After being rescued, the medical team conducted a thorough checkup of the child and subsequently rushed him to Vardhman Institute of Medical sciences (VIMS)for further treatment. The little boy, identified as Shivam Kumar, is the 3-year-old son of Domman Manjhi, a resident of village Kul under Nalanda police station area.
According to doctors, the child was stuck in the muck inside the borewell for almost 8 hours. Hence, immediate medical attention was crucial. Although the child is in stable condition, he will be kept under observation for a few hours as a precautionary measure.
The child had accidentally fallen into the borewell while playing with other children near his house.
Nalanda DPRO said soon after information, the district administration quickly swung into action, deploying JCB machines to begin the excavation process immediately. Alongside, oxygen supply was maintained through pipes to ensure the child’s well-being. The entire rescue operation was closely monitored using CCTV cameras.
He said the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF( State Disaster Response Force)teams were summoned to provide expertise and assistance.
Employing their expertise, the team managed to successfully rescue the child from the precarious situation.
District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar, along with other officials, oversaw the rescue operation at the incident site. They ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place to carry out the rescue mission effectively. The medical team was also present on-site, providing oxygen support to the child throughout the rescue operation.
The timely and efficient efforts of all the teams involved led to the safe rescue of little Shivam Kumar, evoking relief and joy among the locals and authorities alike.
As the incident unfolded, it gripped the attention of the entire region, highlighting the importance of safety measures and vigilance, especially around open borewells and hazardous areas.
