JAIPUR: Congress leader Sachin Pilot has said that the manifesto released by the party on Tuesday for Rajasthan Assembly elections is “really good” as all the sections of the society of the state have been taken care of.
Speaking to the reporters after the launch of the manifesto, the Congress leader said that the people of Rajasthan trust the promises made by the grand old party that will pave the way for it to form the government.
“This is a really good manifesto. All categories have been taken care of. People trust the announcements by Congress. The credibility of BJP’s announcements has finished among the people. I think we will get the majority and we will do what we have not been able to do for 30 years. Congress party will form the government once again,” Pilot said.
The Congress released its manifesto for the Rajasthan assembly elections on Tuesday with several promises, including a much-discussed caste-based survey in the state.
“Conduct a census based on caste to accurately determine population and allocate benefits for informed decisions on affirmative action,” the party said in its manifesto.
It also promised that the party would increase the amount of Mukhyamantri Nishulk Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh annually.
“We will increase the facilities under free OPD/IPD in government medical institutions at the district and block level. Inclusion of IVF in Mukhyamantri Nishulk Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana: Recognizing the profound emotional and social challenges faced by couples deprived of the joy of parenthood, we pledge to introduce a comprehensive ‘In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) package’ under this scheme,” it added.
The Congress further said that the party is committed to enacting a specific law to implement the Minimum Support Price (MSP) called the Minimum Support Price Guarantee Act, following the Swaminathan Committee‘s recommendations.
It also announced to giving of interest-free agriculture loans from cooperative banks of up to Rs 2 lakh to all farmers.
“We are dedicated to “double” the 12 agricultural missions initiated by us, as outlined in the agriculture budget. In pursuit of a brighter future, we will introduce a Detailed Plan for the Staggered Implementation of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP),” the party mentioned in its manifesto.
The Congress also said that it will create 10 lakh employment opportunities in five years, out of which 4 lakh employment opportunities will be in the government sector if returned to power.
A new scheme for recruitment at the panchayat level, gradually merging with government vacancies, providing employment opportunities to youngsters at the grassroots will be formulated, the party said.
For the safety of the women, the Congress announced several measures to be taken including ensuring the presence of CCTV cameras in public places, providing a safe environment to women, appointing security guards in every village and urban ward, taking necessary steps to reduce the average investigation time in sexual harassment cases for speedy justice.
Congress also pledged to uplift the underprivileged in rural areas by guaranteeing 150 days of employment annually from the current 125 days, enhancing the scope of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), and Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme (IGUEGS).
As per the manifesto, the Congress will implement a “Vyapari Credit Card Scheme” similar to the Kisan Credit Card Scheme which will provide interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh to small traders, shopkeepers and young entrepreneurs, promoting economic growth, if voted to power.
