Google Meet gets physical hand raising feature

[ad_1]

Google Meet has introduced a new and interesting feature which will enhance the overall meeting experience. The company has now introduced a new gesture feature which will allow users to raise their hands physically to indicate their desire to speak.
With Google Meet’s new hand-raising feature, you no longer need to fumble with your mouse or keyboard to express your interest.Simply raise your hand, and your virtual counterpart will mirror your gesture, alerting the meeting moderator and fellow participants of your intention to speak.
To ensure the gesture is detected, make sure your camera is enabled and your hand is visible to the camera, away from your face and body. As an active speaker, the gesture detection will not be triggered; when you’re no longer the active speaker, gesture detection will resume.
This feature will be OFF by default and can be turned on by selecting More options > Reactions > Hand Raise Gesture.
Google Meet video calls get new ‘beauty’ effects
Recently, Google updated its Meet video conferencing platform with new filters. Two portrait modes are at your disposal, each providing varying degrees of complexion smoothing, under-eye lightening, and teeth whitening.
The “Subtle” mode delivers gentle cosmetic adjustments, while the “Smoothing” mode adds a slightly more pronounced touch to the enhancements.
Google asserts that users can “lightly touch up their appearance” with either mode selected. This underscores that the new feature is not designed for making substantial alterations but rather for subtle refinements.
