Chahal, who last played a T20I against West Indies in August, missed out on selection for the Australia series at home as leggie Ravi Bishnoi, all-rounders Axar Patel and Washington Sundar were included in the side.
Chahal, on Friday, in a social media post wrote, “To hold it together when everyone else thinks otherwise, that’s the true strength of a warrior,” indirectly highlighting his omission from the side.
Fans too reacted on the post, lending support to Chahal.
“Yuzi chahal have to take retirement from international cricket. You deserve a chance against Australia. Look like you are not in contention of T20 world cup 2024,” a user wrote.
“Come to ICT king. Waiting for your return,” another user wrote.
“Stay strong yuzi, you have a lot of cricket left,” wrote a third user on Chahal’s post.
“I pray for your comeback champ. Raise again,” read another message.
Earlier, on Thursday, Chahal starred with a six-wicket burst for Haryana against Uttarakhand in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
The 33-year-old’s six-wicket haul (10-2-26-6) saw Haryana bundling out Uttarakhand for 207 in their Group C match, and along the way Chahal also completed 200 List A wickets.
