The 108 feet tall panchaloha statue of Lord Rama along with a Ram mandir will be established by Jai Shri Ram Foundation at a cost of Rs 300 crore.
Mantralayam’s Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt has given away a 10-acre plot for the construction of the Ram mandir and installation of the iconic statue.
Sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar, who designed the statue of unity, the world’s tallest statue, has been entrusted the responsibility of designing and installing the Ram idol at Mantralayam.
‘The statue will immerse the city with devotion’
The Union home minister later tweeted “Laid the foundation stone for a 108 feet tall statue of Prabhu Shri Ramachandraji, to be built by Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
The colossal statue of Prabhu Ram, which will be the tallest in India, will immerse the city with the emotion of devotion, while inspiring people to remain unwavering in their commitment to our rich and timeless civilisational values”. Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt pontiff Sri Subudendra Teertha Swamy, Jai Shri Ram Foundation representatives and scores of devotees took part in the foundation stone laying ceremony.
