The report by Business Insider claims that X has been facing a series of resignations from its staff, which includes both senior and junior employees. As per the report, the company’s sales staff began leaving soon after X handed out bonus checks earlier in November.
It also notes that the social media company is currently operating with a skeleton staff at its office while its advertising division continues to lose money. X has yet to offer a comment regarding this issue.
X facing troubles with advertisers
Last month, several major tech companies including Disney, IBM, and Apple stopped offering advertisements on X. This happened after Musk boosted an antisemitic post on X and faced a wave of criticism earlier this month.
Replying to the situation, Musk asked the advertisers to “go f*** yourself,” during an interview with Andrew Sorkin at the DealBook Summit. The billionaire also noted that he doesn’t care if the advertisers withheld their money. Musk said: “The whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company and we’ll document it in great detail.”
After Musk’s interview, X CEO Linda Yaccarino took to the social media platform to back the company owner. She wrote: “He also offered an apology, an explanation and an explicit point of view about our position. X is enabling information independence that’s uncomfortable for some people. We’re a platform that allows people to make their own decisions. And here’s my perspective when it comes to advertising: X is standing at a unique and amazing intersection of Free Speech and Main Street — and the X community is powerful and is here to welcome you. To our partners who believe in our meaningful work — Thank You.”
