‘#Melodi’: Italy PM Giorgia Meloni posts selfie with ‘good friend’ PM Modi | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni met on the sidelines of the ongoing COP28 summit in Dubai on Friday.
Sharing a selfie of their meeting on X (formerly Twitter), Meloni wrote, ‘Good friends at COP28’. The Italian PM also added #Melodi to the post.

PM Modi had also posted an update on his meeting with Meloni and highlighted India and Italy’s joint efforts towards a sustainable and prosperous future.
“Met PM Giorgia Meloni of Italy on the sidelines of the #COP28 Summit. Looking forward to collaborative efforts between India and Italy for a sustainable and prosperous future,” PM Modi wrote in a post on X.
Meloni last visited India for the 2-day G20 summit in September. In March, the Italian PM made her maiden visit to the country.
The COP28 summit is taking place from November 28 to December 12, under the presidency of the UAE.
During his opening remarks at the summit on Friday, PM Modi proposed to host the 33rd session of the UN climate conference (COP33) in India in 2028.
The Prime Minister also met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Barbados counterpart Mia Amor Mottley, French President Emmanuel Macron, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and UK PM Rishi Sunak, among other leaders.
