HTC: This once popular smartphone brand wants to come back from ‘dead’ with this new strategy

[ad_1]

Once upon a time, there was a smartphone brand that made Android-based devices and was considered as both iPhone-level premium and Samsung-level innovative. However, over the years, the competition stiffned up and the company went into slump from launching multiple phones to one or two every alternate year or so.
The smartphone phone brand was HTC. Slowly it disappeared from the market and mostly via its HTC Vive Augmented Reality headset.
Gizmochina has reported that HTC’s Senior Vice President of global business and marketing, Huang Zhaouying has mentioned that the company is planning to make a comeback with a new strategy.
According to the report, the company will start launching one or two smartphones every year. Before you start planning your next purchase, the phones won’t be the top-notch high-end devices like we used to see from the company.
The company has mentioned that the two phones they are planning to launch will cater to the mid-range segment and they will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chips and not the high-end 8 Gen chipsets.
As per Zhaouying, the Snaprdragon 7 Gen chipsets are more inclined towards offering a balance of everything that most customers need from their phones.
It is yet to be cleared from when we will get to see new phones from HTC or what all markets it will be launched.
History of HTC phones in recent years
In the last couple of years, HTC has only launched a couple of smartphones like the HTC U23 series which included the HTC U23 and U23 Pro. Apart from that, there was the HTC Desire 22 Pro and that’s pretty much it.
That said, HTC was a brand who used to make pretty innovative and premium products. Had a wide range of lineup, polished user interface back in the day when other smartphone brands were struggling to get the custom user interface right.
