Salute their courage: PM Modi pays tribute to heroes of India’s win over Pakistan in 1971 war | India News

NEW DELHI: On the occasion of ‘Vijay Diwas‘, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to the bravehearts of India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 war. Taking to X, PM Modi asserted that the valour and dedication of the heroes of the 1971 war ‘remain a source of immense pride for the nation.’
“Today, on Vijay Diwas, we pay heartfelt tributes to all the brave heroes who dutifully served India in 1971, ensuring a decisive victory.Their valour and dedication remain a source of immense pride for the nation, PM Modi said in a post on X.
“Their sacrifices and unwavering spirit will forever be etched in the people’s hearts and our nation’s history. India salutes their courage and remembers their indomitable spirit,” he added.

Union home minister Amit Shah also paid tributes to the brave heroes. “I bow to the brave hearts of our armed forces on the occasion of Vijay Diwas,” he said in a post on X.
“On this day our soldiers won a glorious victory against Pakistani forces in 1971 and secured the dignity of life, women and human values, as a consequence of which a new nation Bangladesh was formed. The sacrifices and valour of our forces will remain a pillar of courage for eternity,” he added

Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge took to X to pay tribute to the Indian heroes of the 1971 war. “The geography of the world changed today in 1971, as our brave Indian Armed Forces defeated Pakistan and Liberated Bangladesh,” Kharge’s X post read.

“It was a momentous occasion for humanity, under the dynamic and decisive leadership of Smt. Indira Gandhi. We bow to the indomitable courage, valour and determination of our Armed Forces and Mukti Bahini,” it added.
Vijay Diwas is observed every year to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan.
