Vision Pro Developer Kit: Apple begins taking applications for Vision Pro developer kit

[ad_1]

Developers can now apply for a developer kit for the upcoming Apple Vision Pro headset. This will allow them to prepare their apps for the launch of the new App Store that will be available on the headset.

Apple is taking applications for Vision Pro developer kits. These kits provide developers with loaned headsets to create and test their apps.
To be considered for a Vision Pro developer kit, developers must submit a “brief application,” as Apple defines. Applicants must be registered in the Apple Developer Program and provide information about their team’s development skills and current apps.

There is no guarantee that every applicant will receive a headset. Apple will review the applications and prioritise those creating an app that utilises vision features and capabilities. Furthermore, there is no word on when the headsets will be delivered.
If you meet the requirements, you will receive a loaned mixed reality headset, assistance with setup, expert check-ins, and additional support requests beyond the usual support given to developers.
To ensure security, Apple mandates that the Vision Pro be kept in a restricted workspace accessible only to authorised team members. Additionally, any public discussion of the hardware, whether in person or on social media, is prohibited by Apple. Lastly, the company reserves the right to request the return of the unit at any given time.
There is a compatibility checklist available to help developers ensure their apps are ready for Vision OS. Furthermore, the company is offering compatibility evaluations for apps and games, providing reports on how they appear and function within the Vision OS.
Apple is organising Vision Pro developer labs in various cities worldwide, such as Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo. Interested developers can apply through Apple’s website.
Priced at $3,499, the Vision Pro is scheduled to hit the shelves early next year.
