MUMBAI: Amol Muzumdar is likely to become the batting coach of the Indian women’s cricket team for the Asian Games in September-October.
“The BCCI is in talks with a big name to coach the Indian women’s team. Amol is in the ‘short list’ but he is likely to become the batting coach of the side,” a reliable source told TOI.
Muzumdar was initially tipped to be the head coach of the side.
The new coach, likely to be a reputed name, will get a two-year contract in a crucial period when the Indian women’s team is set to play the T20 World Cup in September-October next year in Bangladesh, followed by the ODI World Cup in India in 2025.
