Official Twitter Account: The official Twitter account has officially been ‘killed’

[ad_1]

It stood solid for many, many years yet in just three days it’s gone for good. We are talking about Twitter’s official account, which has now officially been deactivated. If you head to the Twitter account on X (should we start calling it X?), then you will see the message, “this account is no longer active. Follow @X for updates.” Furthermore, the tweets are now protected. The official X account is very much active now.

The Twitter to X transition
Things are moving rather fast in the transition of Twitter to X. The Twitter logo has been replaced on the web version of the social media platform. On mobile, the Twitter bird is still very much alive. At Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco, the old branding has been taken down but the new logo is still not seen. However, the X logo was projected on the building, which was shared in a tweet by Elon Musk. The Twitter Blue handle is also now called X Blue.

Musk apparently is too happy with the X logo in its current form. In a tweet, he said that , “I don’t like the thicker bars, so reverting. The logo will evolve over time.” He also made a rather bullish claim and said that X will “become the most valuable brand on Earth. Make my words.”
The long-term transition, however, is to become an “everything” app. Musk has been clear that he wants users to share news, videos, opinions, do financial transactions and much more on X. One of the reasons, he said that the name Twitter wasn’t making sense as the platform had evolved.
It’s still not clear what Musk and co. plan to do with other renaming ideas. Are users still expected to call them tweets? Considering that it’s not Twitter anymore and is called, should we be mentioning them as tweets? Keep an eye on Musk’s Twitter feed as that’s the only place where we can learn about any major happenings about X.
