KOLKATA: Former Bengal CM and CPM leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was admitted Saturday to a Kolkata ICU after his oxygen saturation dropped sharply, leading to acute breathing distress.
“He has been put on non-invasive ventilation support, antibiotics and other supportive management. Necessary investigations have been done and the reports are awaited. He is hemodynamically stable,” said a bulletin from Woodlands Hospital where Bhattacharjee, 79, was admitted. Doctors suggested immediate hospitalisation after finding that his oxygen saturation had dropped below 70.
