“Thorough scrutiny of the names in the BJP’s new national team reveals that the saffron party strongly believes that its Bihar leaders from the backward, extremely backward and scheduled caste communities do not have capability to lead the party. The BJP utilises its leaders from the weaker sections only for rolling out the carpets and carrying flags during the party programmes,” JD(U) national general secretary and spokesperson Rajib Ranjan said here on Monday.
He said earlier senior leaders like Renu Devi (who belongs to the extremely backward community) and former minister Renu Kushwaha (backward community) used to be the members of the BJP national team.
Rajib, who was earlier in the BJP, also alleged that the saffron party general does not keep the backward and dalit leaders from Bihar in its main national team. Though some leaders are accommodated in the party’s frontal organisation’s like OBC Morcha, SC and ST Morcha.
BJP national president J P Nadda on Saturday released a list of the party’s 38 national office-bearers for the new three-year term, including 13 vice-presidents, eight general secretaries, one each of general secretary (organisation) and co-general secretary (organisation), as well as of 13 national secretaries and one each of treasurer and co-treasurer.
“But, no Bihar leaders either from the backward, extremely backward or the scheduled caste communities were included in the new national team. Only its national secretary Rituraj Sinha (who hails from upper caste) is retained,” the JD(U) leader said.
