NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Centre to take all necessary steps to maintain law and order in National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi and ensure no hate speeches are made in rallies.
The top court was hearing pleas over various protest marches being organized over violence in Haryana’s Nuh. It refused to stop the rallies and asked the authorities to ensure there is no violence. The court ordered deployment of additional forces and installation of CCTV cameras in sensitive areas.
The apex court also issued notices to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi governments and fixed August 4 for next hearing in the case.
