Elon Musk: Elon Musk is auctioning Twitter signs, other items after X rebranding

Twitter was rebranded X as Elon Musk moves closer to creating an “everything app”. As a part of this rebranding, the company is removing all instances of “Twitter”, including building signs and some other items.

The company is putting Twitter building signs and other items from the company. There are 637 items listed for auction and these include coffee tables, outsized bird cages, and some oil paintings.
Those interested can purchase desks and chairs, a DJ booth and musical instruments including guitars, drum sets, keyboards from the auction, called “Twitter Rebranding: Online Auction Featuring Memorabilia, Art, Office Assets & More!”

One of the Twitter signs on offer is still fixed to the company’s headquarters on 10th Street in San Francisco.
“Bird is still mounted on the side of the building. Buyer is responsible for hiring an SF Licensed Company with appropriate Permits,” the listing reads. The minimum offer for each lot is $25, according to auction house Heritage Global Partners.
The auction starts on September 12 at 07:00 am PT and ends on September 14, 09:00 am PT.
Second auction
This is the second auction by Musk’s X. In the first held earlier this year, the company sold Twitter memorabilia from the San Francisco headquarters, including office furniture and unique decorations, finding new homes. That auction saw over 600 items.
Notable sales included a Twitter bird statue that was auctioned for $100,000 and a 10-foot-tall neon digital sign displaying the old bird logo, which sold for $40,000.
The auction came soon after Musk cut costs at Twitter following his $44 billion purchase of the firm in October last year.
