DEHRADUN/MUSSOORIE/UTTARKASHI: An intense spell of heavy rainfall between Sunday night and Monday wreaked havoc in several parts of Uttarakhand, leaving at least three people dead and five missing – taking the toll in rain-related incidents in the state this monsoon to 63 with over 20 still untraceable.

In addition, the Badrinath NH was blocked at several places due to landslides.
Incessant rainfall caused a major landslide in Mohan Chatti area of Pauri Garhwal, leaving six people buried under the debris.

A major tragedy was averted after as many as 114 workers, who were stuck in the under-construction Rishikesh-Karnaprayag railway tunnel near Shivpuri after excess rain water entered the area, were rescued by SDRF.
A multi-storey building of a private college in Maldevta area of Dehradun collapsed. In Mussoorie, heavy downpour since Sunday afternoon caused multiple landslides and roadblocks. Landslides were also reported on the Mussoorie-Dehradun Road.
