NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday delivered his tenth consecutive Independence Day address from the Red Fort during which he said India is at a decisive turning point and has the strength to shape the new world order.

His speech garnered accolades from notable Padma Awardees, academics, technology and business leaders, prominent women professionals, actors, and athletes who spoke on the occasion, commending the vision of the address.
PM Modi said that India has demography, democracy, and diversity and the confluence of these three empowers the country to fulfil all its dreams.

Anil Bhardwaj, Secretary General, FISME, highlighted that the MSME sector has incorporated the three Ds- Democracy, Demography, and Diversity that the PM mentioned in his speech to achieve the growth that it is witnessing.

Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, National Education Technology Forum talked about how India has utilised rich demography, technology and diversity to achieve growth.

Indranil Sen Gupta, Head of India Research at CLSA, discussed projections indicating that India is poised to approach Japan’s GDP within the next 5-6 years, propelling India to the position of the world’s third-largest economy.

‘Reform, Perform and Transform’
Stating that it is a “new India” brimming with self-confidence and dedicated to fulfilling its resolves, Modi noted that his “beloved family members” elected him to power in 2014 on his promise of change and voted for him again in 2019 as the promise turned into trust through his emphasis on “reform, perform and transform”.
Harshad Patel, Vice Chancellor of IITE Gandhi Nagar, elaborated on how the Prime Minister’s message of “Reform, Perform, and Transform” has contributed to substantial growth over the past nine years.

Eminent Kathak Dancer Nalini Asthana talked about the new direction that the Youth should take to contribute towards the nation’s growth.

Renowned Indian archer and recipient of the Arjuna Award, Abhishek Verma, extended his congratulations to the nation and urged everyone to embrace the anti-corruption motto put forth by Prime Minister Modi.

International medalists Gaurav Rana, Jasmine Kaur, Priya Singh, Nihal Singh and national sports awardee Kiran underscored the importance of embracing the message given by Prime Minister: Rashtra Pratham, Always Pratham. Furthermore, they emphasized how this message would also be applied by them in the realm of sports.

Padma Shri awardee Bharat Bhushan Tyagi appreciated the recognition given to farmers and their contributions in the Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech.

‘Era of Women Empowerment’
The speech placed significant emphasis on acknowledging the women who have taken the initiative to contribute to economic growth and introduced several programs aimed at fostering further development.
Actress Sarita Joshi appreciated the PM’s recognition of the role of women in nation-building.

Padma Shree award and renowned gynaecologist Dr Alka Kriplani commended the emphasis placed on women and their empowerment in the Prime Minister’s address.

Vani Kola, Managing Director of Kalaari Capital, praised the Prime Minister for addressing the upliftment of women and advocating against crimes targeting women, with the need to incorporate learnings and ambitious targets to make women financially independent.

Padma Bhushan awardee, and an eminent singer, KS Chithra also appreciated women empowerment initiatives and announcements.

Capt. Zoya Agrawal expressed happiness on the mention by PM Modi about the highest number of women commercial pilots in the world which, she noted, will fuel women empowerment.
