Google has rolled out a new update for its Calendar app. This update will promote the inclusivity of Microsoft Outlook users in Google Calendar meetings. Earlier, when users sent out an invite to a Google Calendar user via Outlook, their display name wasn’t shown in the list of meeting attendees. However, the latest update will change this.
In a blog post, the Google Workspace team said: “We’re updating this experience so that the Outlook user who organised the meeting is listed amongst the other meeting attendees in the Calendar as the meeting organiser.”
Availability and how will it work
Google also noted that this new change will be rolled out automatically.The tech giant also highlighted that no action from the end user or admin is required for this feature to work.
The company also mentioned that this change will roll out to all Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts as well. However, it is important to note that the change might not be available to users instantly, as it will be rolled out in phases.
Google has also noted that it may take 15 days for the change to appear for some users. The company has already started rolling out the change on August 24.
More features may arrive soon
The Outlook Calendar doesn’t support some features for users who access Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook (GWSMO). For example, items attached to a calendar event in Outlook might be visible only to the user and not to others.

This issue might be caused due to the attachments not being synchronised with the Google Calendar of the rest of the attendees.
Meanwhile, when users try to delete Outlook calendar, it is removed from their Outlook Calendar Navigation Pane. However, it remains available for other users across their Google Calendar accounts.
This might happen as it’s not synchronised with Outlook. For this, users need to sign in to their Google Calendar account to delete the folder from there permanently.
According to a report by Windows Central, Google may solve these issues soon.
