One cable to rule’em all
The iPhone 15 series is set to be unveiled on September 12 and if Apple’s traditional timelines are to be followed, then September 22 is most likely when the new iPhones will arrive. The iPhone 15 series will bring an all-new USB-C charging port and a new charging cable. No, don’t expect Apple to have a generous change of heart and include a charging adapter in the box.
With the iPhone 15 going the USB-C way, no longer will there be a need to carry at least two separate charging cables. And this was even if you didn’t have an iPhone. If you have an AirPods and a MacBook, then also you needed two cables. It is also rumoured that there will be new AirPods with Type-C port, which could be unveiled along with the iPhone 15 series.
The carrying-too-many-charging-cables is something Android users are pretty much devoid of. Almost every mid-range to premium Android phone comes with a Type-C port. The same goes for true wireless earbuds as well. And if you’re one of those who is averse to all things Apple and have a Windows laptop, then most of those devices also come with a Type-C port. iPhone 15 will sort the charging cable mess and you may just have to thank the European Union.
