MUMBAI: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) decided to not continue with Director of Cricket Mike Hesson and coach Sanjay Bangar.
“All contracts are intact,” Royal Bangalore Challengers head Rajesh Menon told TOI.
However, a reliable source said, “The contracts of both Hesson and Bangar have not been renewed. The current contract runs till December 31, but normally, if the coaches are to be retained, their contracts are renewed at this time of the year.”
Bangar has been RCB’s coach for the last three IPL seasons-they reached the playoffs under him in 2021 & 2022, while missed out narrowly in IPL-2023.
Both Hesson and Bangar, a former India batting coach, enjoyed a great equation with former India and RCB captain Virat Kohli.
The Lucknow Super Giants have appointed former Australia opener and coach Justin Langer as their head coach, replacing Andy Flower.
