WhatsApp has been working on a redesign interface to a future update of the app on iPhones. Earlier this year, the company released a redesign, which included revamped buttons for the navigation bar. The Meta-owned app has now tweaked the design and brought green colour accents to certain parts in the beta app.
Previously, some elements of the interface still appeared in blue, and now WhatsApp is adopting the green colour for those elements, making the interface more consistent.
“WhatsApp is also removing the filter button next to the search bar because it will no longer be needed due to the new “Unread” filter,” WABetainfo said, highlighting that the changes have been brought to beta users in WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.19.1.72.
“WhatsApp is taking significant steps to address the long-anticipated need for a revamped interface for their iOS app, actively responding to the persistent requests from their users who asked for a more modern experience,” it said.
Reportedly, WhatsApp has plans to further refine this interface.
In addition, WhatsApp is replacing the “Business” filter with a new feature to easily filter group chats. This was previously discovered with the WhatsApp beta update for Android.
Redesigned buttons for limited iPhone users
Recently, WhatsApp rolled out a new design upgrade for the iPhone users. It released a fresh button design for the app on iPhones in WhatsApp version iOS 23.18.78 to a limited number of users. After the new update, the Edit option placed above Chats is replaced with a three-dot menu button. Along with this, the icon to start a new chat is also replaced with a ‘+’ icon.
Meta has also started testing WhatsApp for iPad. WABetaInfo has reported that a beta version compatible with iPad can now be installed on the iPads via TestFlight app.
