NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi on Thursday visited Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi and spent time interacting with porters.
The former Congress president spoke at length with coolies and discussed the issues they face. He also donned the coolie attire – a red shirt – and lifted luggage over his head.

“People’s hero Rahul Gandhiji met his porter friends at the Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi today. Recently, a video had gone viral in which the porter friends of the railway station had expressed their desire to meet him,” the Congress said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Rahul’s visit comes months after few porters urged him to meet them to understand their issues and work for their uplift.
Last month, the Congress leader visited Leh-Ladakh and held interactions with locals.
In May, the Congress MP took a late-night truck ride from Delhi to Chandigarh. He engaged in conversations with truck drivers at a dhaba to understand the challenges they face.
