NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday hailed the Chhattisgarh government‘s efforts to aid women financially amid rising inflation.
Speaking at the ‘Mahila Samridhi Sammelan’ gathering organised by the Congress government at Bhilai in Chhattisgarh, Priyanka lauded the state government’s welfare schemes and said the values of the old era are still intact in the Congress and the party works for the welfare and interest of common people.
She also praised the state government’s farmer-centric policies, through which inflation’s burden has considerably decreased for Chhattisgarh’s residents.
Gandhi hailed the Chhattisgarh government for proactively addressing this concern by establishing Gauthans and stated that she regularly highlights the success of this model during her visits to other states.
“The Chhattisgarh government has formulated various schemes with a focus on women’s empowerment. Chhattisgarh Mahtari, symbolizing the blend of culture heritage and technology, is worshipped at every event in the state,” Priyanka said.
Gandhi commended the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to empowering women and efforts to formulate various schemes focusing on women as the backbone of society.
“Over 10 lakh women have joined various groups, with some achieving significant financial success. The state government also raised the honorarium for Anganwadi workers and assistants and increased the stipends for the Mitanin,” she added.
The Chhattisgarh government has launched several schemes to bring economic prosperity to Chhattisgarh. Notably, the ceiling for providing loans to self-help groups was raised, and their existing loans were waived.
The launch of the Dai Didi Clinic Yojana offers free healthcare services to women. The Mahtari Jatan Yojana provides nutritious food for pregnant mothers, while free education is provided to women in government schools.
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel dedicated 186 development projects worth Rs 309.56 crore to the people of Durg district.
He carried out bhumipoojan for 123 development works worth Rs 241.59 crore and inaugurated 63 development projects worth Rs 67.97 crore.
Baghel announced the launching of the Chhattisgarh Mahtari Sanskritik Samvardhan Yojana (Chhattisgarh Mahtari Cultural Promotion Scheme), aimed at enhancing cultural heritage and tourism centres.
