NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency on Saturday seized the property of SFI founder and Khalistani extremist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, in Chandigarh – who had earlier warned Hindus to leave Canada.
The action on the part of the NIA comes when India and Canada are embroiled in a diplomatic row over the killing of Khalistani-linked extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia in June.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a New York-based secessionist Sikh leader, had warned the Hindu community of Canada to leave the country and return to India and had also alleged that the Hindu community there was acting against the interests of the North American country.
On the orders of the NIA Mohali court, a property confiscation notice has also been pasted outside Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in BharsinghPura village of Jalandhar district.
