NEW DELHI: Mobile internet services have been suspended yet again in Manipur, this time for five days (till October 1), as per orders given by the governor, said a government statement.
The state government announced earlier today that schools will also remain shut till Friday, in light of protests taking place in Imphal over killing of two youths who were allegedly kidnapped in July. 45 students were reportedly injured in the protests on Tuesday as the police fired tear gas shells and baton-charged the protestors.
The students of Imphal-based schools and colleges brought out the protest rallies hours after photos of the bodies of the two youths went viral on social media, demanding arrest of those involved in the killing.
