After the Border Security Force (BSF) and Rajasthan‘s Sriganganagar district police in a joint operation recovered a US-made drone and 15 cartridges from a private farmland in Kesripur station area on Sunday, an FIR against unidentified people has been registered and an investigation launched.
Suspecting the drone was sent from across the Pakistan border, BSF assistant commandant Anil Kumar Rai has registered a case at Kesrisinghpur police station. A police officer said, “A case has been registered under Arms Act and NDPS Act against unidentified suspects. While smuggling through drone in border areas has been a recurrent thing, this is probably for the first time that cartridges have been found in an UAV in Rajasthan.”
According to sources, BSF has sent the drone to its Delhi wing for further investigation.
