NEW DELHI: In the wake of communal barbs hurled at him in Lok Sabha, BSP MP Danish Ali Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to publicly condemn the “reprehensible conduct” of BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri to deter future transgressions and establish decorum in the parliamentary proceedings. He said as the Leader of the House in Lok Sabha, it is the PM’s responsibility to ensure free speech and well-being of all MPs irrespective of political affiliations.
Ali wrote to PM Modi about the sensational incident in Lok Sabha during the recent special session, urging that “accountability” be fixed on Bidhuri, and he be “suitably punished”. Ali also sought enhanced security for himself in view of the threats to his life.
The BSP MP also complained that BJP MPs like Nishikant Dubey are attributing statements to him which he never made in the House.
