Hero Karizma XMR design patent leaked: Return of the icon soon?

Hero MotoCorp is diligently working on reviving the iconic Karizma brand with the new XMR 210 model. The motorcycle, expected to be launched sometime this year, has had a lead-up filled with spy images and even an exclusive preview of the production-spec motorcycle for dealers.
It will serve as the successor to the discontinued 223cc version of the motorcycle from a few years ago.
Recently, a leaked design patent has provided yet another glimpse of the revived Karizma’s design.

The design patent image offers a partially top-down look at the motorcycle, providing a clearer view of the fairing’s shape, the tail section’s profile, and a better understanding of the handlebar design and its surroundings.
The Karizma XMR will sport raised clip-on handlebars that are attached to the conventional fork tubes and rest on the top triple clamp. It is interesting to note that the company equipped the more affordable Hero Xtreme 160R 4V with USD forks, which is not the case here.
Just behind the front fairing, there will be a digital instrumentation display. On the rear, the motorcycle boasts a two-piece seat design, a finely crafted tail section and a compact exhaust canister.
Moving on to the chassis, the Karizma will feature a straightforward box-section swingarm, and the front brake is depicted as a petal disc. There’s little known about the engine of the motorcycle, however, it can be expected to get a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Upon launch, the motorcycle will rival the likes of Yamaha R15 V4, Suzuki Gixxer SF250, and Bajaj Pulsar 250.
