Amazon kills this comics app, here’s how users will be affected

Earlier this year, Amazon discontinued the Comixology website and now, the company has announced the discontinuation of the Comixology app as well. The company has confirmed that the app is going away and starting December 4, users won’t be able to access the app or download it on their Android and iOS devices.
For those unaware, the Comixology app was among the most popular platforms for reading digital comic books.The platform offered users the option to buy comic books and build a collection. Amazon then acquired the platform and reskinned it with a similar design to theKindle app.
What’s happening to the Comixology app
As mentioned, the original Comixology app will be discontinued permanently. Meaning, that users who are on Android, iOS and even Amazon’s tablets won’t be able to access the content.
Where will happen to all the content of the Comixology app
Well, the content from the Comixology app won’t disappear. Amazon is merging the Comixology app with the Amazon Kindle app and all the content will be available through the Kindle app to users.
Amazon has also clarified that users won’t get affected much as all the content will be available via the Kindle app as well as the reading process. Comixology Unlimited will also work.
Amazon has mentioned, “On December 4, 2023, we will be merging the Comixology and Kindle applications on iOS, Android, and Fire OS, and the Comixology app will no longer be available for use. After December 4, 2023, you can continue to access your Comixology comics, graphic novels, and manga titles in the Kindle app. Please ensure you are using the same Amazon login you use now for the Comixology app.”
