NEW DELHI: BJP on Thursday hailed the passage of the women’s reservation bill in Parliament with home minister Amit Shah saying that “where there is a will, there is a way” while the party attributed the historic legislation to PM Modi’s decisive leadership. “A historic milestone was achieved today on the path of equitable governance as Rajya Sabha has passed the women’s reservation bill. By fulfilling a long-pending demand, PM Modi Ji has sent a powerful message of gender equality and inclusive governance across the world,” the home minister said in a post on X.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh said with the passage of the bill in Rajya Sabha on Thursday, a new and golden chapter has been added to the history of Indian democracy. “I congratulate the PM for this step which gives new energy and flight to women empowerment. It is the result of his strong will that this bill has been passed in both Houses of Parliament,” he said.
