NEW DELHI: India’s trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan secured the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event at the Asian Games. Their collective effort produced a score of 1759, elevating India to the top of the podium and securing the nation’s fourth gold medal at the ongoing sporting event.
The standout performance of Manu Bhaker shone through as she also claimed the top spot in the qualification round, concluding the final rapid-fire series with an impressive score of 98 points.

China earned the silver medal with a score of 1756, while South Korea’s shooting team settled for the third position, accumulating a total score of 1742.

This victory came shortly after another Indian shooting trio delivered an outstanding performance, earning a silver medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3-position event.
Ashi Chouksey, Manini Koushik, and Sift Kaur Samra showcased their skills, amassing a total of 1764 points in the qualification round, securing the second-place finish.
China, the host nation, claimed the gold medal with an aggregate score of 1773, while South Korea secured the bronze with a total score of 1756.
Samra and Chauksey both qualified for the finals, finishing in second and sixth place, respectively. However, Kaushik was eliminated from the individual event, concluding her participation in the 18th position.
Sift Kaur Samra also created history by jointly setting a new Asian record for qualifying with an impressive score of 594.
