NEW DELHI

: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has referred complaints of some MPs against BJP‘s Ramesh Bidhuri for using “derogatory” words against BSP’s Danish Ali in the House to the Privileges Committee.
While Ali and several other opposition MPs, including Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and DMK’s Kanimozhi, demanded action against Bidhuri, several BJP parliamentarians like Nishikant Dubey said the BSP member “incited” the South Delhi MP when he was speaking in the House and urged the Speaker to look into this aspect as well.
Sources said the Chair has sent all these complaints to the Privileges Committee headed by BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh.
In a post on X, Dubey thanked the Speaker for referring the matter to the committee.
It came a day after Bidhuri was seen holding a meeting with BJP workers in Tonk district of Rajasthan, for which has been appointed as poll in-charge.
Opposition leaders have slammed BJP over Bidhuri being given poll responsibility by the party in Tonk.
With the Gujjar Jat community present in large numbers in Tonk district, which has four assembly seats including the one held by senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot, BJP believes Bidhuri can help swing votes as he is also from the same caste.
Earlier, BJP had also issued a show-cause notice to Bidhuri after his derogatory words targeting Ali in Lok Sabha during the debate on the women’s reservation bill while the opposition had demanded his suspension.
