NEW DELHI: The price of commercial LPG refills was raised by Rs 209 on Sunday following an uptick in benchmark rates, but household cylinder rates were kept unchanged.
The increase comes after two rounds of reductions in August and September totalling about Rs 250. The move will, however, raise the fuel cost of small eateries, sweet shops, caterers and canteens ahead of the festive and marriage seasons when sales rise.
After the increase, each blue coloured commercial refill of 19 kg will cost Rs 1,731.50 in Delhi, Rs 1,684 in Mumbai, Rs 1,898 in Chennai and Rs 1,839 in Kolkata.
The price of commercial LPG was last slashed by Rs 158 on September 1 and by Rs 99.75 on August 1. These refills are sold at market rates that are benchmarked to Saudi Contract Price.
The price of red coloured domestic cylinders of 14.2 kg remains unchanged at Rs 903.
