LUCKNOW: Days after the war of words between INDIA bloc allies Congress and SP over seat sharing in Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, Uttar Pradesh PCC chief Ajay Rai on Monday said his party was preparing to contest elections on all the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh next year.
The two parties had failed to reach an alliance in MP with SP fielding candidates in 33 assembly seats.
Talking to TOI, Rai said: “The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are very crucial, and as the party’s state chief, it’s my responsibility to ensure that we prepare to contest on all 80 seats of the state with all the strength.”
Rai added that he has been holding meetings with district and divisional office-bearers in “our preparations for contesting all the LS seats in UP”. The party has also started several caste-based and community-centric campaigns to mobilise public support.
“I have been travelling extensively across districts and divisions for review,” Rai said.
