Croma: Croma employee scam: Tata-owned electronics company has a ‘warning’ for you

[ad_1]

At a time when scamsters are using sophisticated techniques to fool people, there is a new type of scam wherein individuals impersonate as employees from a reputed company to deceive their customers. In a communication to its customers, Croma has raised an alarm about this emerging threat.
The Tata-owned consumer electronics retail chain said that individuals posing as Croma employees, agents, or representatives are attempting to deceive customers, prompting it to issue a cautionary message.
Croma emphasised that customers should stay vigilant and it also outlined key details to help customers differentiate between genuine and fraudulent interactions.
No affiliation
The company asserted that its official presence is limited to www.croma.com, the Tata Neu app, and 440+ physical stores across India. It asked customers to disregard any other websites claiming to be affiliated with Croma, such as cromawholesellers.com or cromawholesale.com.
Limited payment modes
Croma also clarified that the only valid payment methods are through its official website, in-store transactions, or via the Tata Neu App. Croma employees are not allowed to accept personal payments.
“We will never call you to sell deals or gift cards. All offers and promotions are communicated through our website, in-store or on our official Croma WhatsApp channel (green tick verified) and via valid email IDs only,” Croma said in the communication sent through WhatsApp.
How to report such scams
In case customers encounter any suspicious activity or individuals falsely claiming affiliation with Croma through unauthorised means, the company urges them to report it. These reports can be made by contacting 18005727662 or via email at customersupport@croma.com.
