Danish Ali: If BJP thinks it can make gains from Ramesh Bidhuri’s derogatory remarks, it is living in a fool’s paradise | India News

NEW DELHI: BSP MP Danish Ali, who was targeted with derogatory remarks by BJP member Ramesh Bhiduri in Lok Sabha, on Thursday said if the saffron party thinks it can use its MP to make some political gains, it is living in a fool’s paradise.
Danish Ali was reacting to reports of BJP giving poll duty to Bidhuri in the Tonk district of Rajasthan, which goes to polls later this year.
Bidhuri had made the remarks against Ali during a discussion on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission last Thursday. The BJP MP’s derogatory comments had sparked a furore, with opposition leaders calling for stringent action against him.
“The Chaal, Charitra and Chera of the BJP has been exposed. Those who were spreading hate outside are now making hate speeches inside Parliament. On the one hand they have issued a show-cause notice to him and on the other they are giving him important election responsibility. People who believe in democracy, people who believe in constitution will not accept this, the BSP MP said.
“The BJP should have maintained some decorum. The people of the country have expectations of some ethics from the party which calls itself the world’s largest party. You issued a show-cause notice to him (Bidhuri), either make his reply public or say that we legitimise and reward hate,” he said and added “The BJP will have to pay a price for this. People will give a befitting reply to the saffron party.”
“The people of Gurjar community have come and met me, they are embarrassed by such remarks, Hindus have come and expressed solidarity with me. So it can be the BJP’s thinking that they will get some benefit out of such actions (giving responsibility to Bidhuri in Tonk) but the common people are hurt by this,” the MP from Amroha said.
Complaints on Danish Ali-Ramesh Bidhuri matter sent to privileges committee
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has referred MPs’ complaints on the issue involving BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri‘s use of objectionable words against BSP’s Danish Ali to the Privileges Committee, sources said on Thursday.
While Ali and several other opposition MPs, including Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and DMK’s Kanimozhi, demanded action against Bidhuri, several BJP parliamentarians like Nishikant Dubey said the BSP member “incited” the South Delhi MP when he speaking in the House and urged the Speaker to look into this aspect as well.
Sources said the Chair has sent all these complaints to the Privileges Committee headed by BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh.
