Eknath Shinde’s son recites Hanuman Chalisa as Sena outfits clash | India News

NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha Tuesday turned into an arena for clash between the Sena factions, as the BJP ally among them accused the Uddhav Thackeray faction of betraying Hindutva, and the opposition partner retaliated by arguing that the Hindutva followers are not “bhagodas” (deserters), but have the courage to face adversity like pressure of enforcement agencies.

The Thackeray faction also accused PM Modi and the Shinde-Fadnavis government of taking away major projects from Maharashtra to Gujarat. The clash peaked further when Union minister and BJP MP Narayan Rane, who has been with Sena and Congress both, “threatened” those questioning PM Modi.
Lok Sabha MP and Maharashtra CM’s son Shrikant Eknath Shinde turned the discussion into an attack on Uddhav, accusing him of abandoning Bal Thackeray’s Hindutva ideology and even recited the Hanuman Chalisa to make his point that people were stopped from chanting the prayer during Sena-NCP-Congress government under Uddhav.

While he ridiculed the renaming of UPA as INDIA as designed to hide the legacy of scams and terror attacks, his focus remained the state politics. He accused Thackeray of betraying BJP after winning a joint mandate in 2019, and forming the government with NCP and Congress.
But Thackeray loyalist Arvind Sawant lamented that after the initiation of the debate by Congress’ Gaurav Gogoi, BJP has fielded speakers just to trivialise the Manipur strife. However, he soon moved to get even with Shinde, invoking the word “gaddar (traitor)” as he clubbed the Shinde faction, albeit without naming, and the NCP bloc led by Ajit Pawar, to target the BJP allies.
